Title: Unable to Access Linkstation from India
Post by: sjlnkstn on January 17, 2009, 04:18:09 PM

Hello All,

I recently bought a 1TB Linkstation and set it up. While in USA i was able to access it from home/Office externally/internally but recently when I went to india I tried to connect but I kept getting error messages.

Please let me know if i am doing some thing wrong. I login through web, meaning go to http://buffalonas.com and enter my station name and press connect. While in India it would wait for a minute or so and then complained that the <ipaddress>:9000/ was not responding.

Did any one experience this or would know how to resolve this issue.

Thanks for your help in advance.

If you were able to access it from outside the network, then you should be able to access it anywhere outside your network.

Is the LS setup for DHCP? Maybe it pulled a new IP and needs port 9000 to be forwarded to that port.

Hi Kevin,

thanks a lot for your help. It was indeed a case of changed IP address because of the DNS setting. I changed the IP on the router and now all is well.

Thanks again for your help.
