Title: LSCH1.0- can't access via em mode, force firmware update, or tftp
Post by: joy on January 18, 2012, 06:36:34 PM

I was updating firmware when it hung and haven't been able to access since. I followed directions for em mode, force firmware, and tftp but have had no luck. It will blink 2 long and 5 short flashes- amber colored. When I attempted the tftp, the status flashed blue for a bit, but then went back to the amber color. Please help!

This means the FW is updating internally, leave it for upto 4 hours without rebooting and see if it clear the error.

Unfortunately it has been a couple of days. I can't get it to force update the firmware because it doesn't show up in the updater to select.

My LS-CHL1.0 (v2) suffered a similar fate whereby the FW update went on for a few days and thereafter device keeps on restarting every 60 sec and it is not possible to access it via EM mode:(

Never did get it working. Luckily, data recovery company could access my data and Buffalo was good enough to send me a new one per my warranty.
