Title: Streaming to iTouch/iPhone
Post by: Chipotle on January 15, 2009, 04:57:15 PM
I have the Buffalo Linkstation-Mini.  I am able to stream video and audio using Buffalonas to my iTouch/iPhone from within my network.  I am unable to stream video and audio when I connect to Buffalonas from outside the network.  When trying to play video from outside the network it plays small bits of video at a time, does not play the entire program smoothly.  I have all the latest firmware...I have check the WiFi speed and all are similar.  Is there something I to set or do differently when I trying to stream from outside of the network?

It's probably due to your upload bandwidth not being enough to support the streaming. Try the speed test at www.speakeasy.net

SBC DSL Dowlnoad Speed:1317 kbps / Upload Speed: 265 kbps (33.1 KB/sec transfer rate).  What do I require and how do I increase the upload speed?

Thanks

ouch... that is pretty bad for video streaming. Increasing the upload speed would only be a potential option through your ISP, and you would most likely need to pay more. ~1.5 mbps download is normally paired with at least 512 kbps uploard, you may want to call your ISP to see if those speeds are normal.
