Title: Powered or powerless external hard drive?

Does it make any difference if I use self powered external hard drive on LinkStation Pro Duo, or If I use external hard drive that gets its power via USB?  I'm concerned about heating of LS, and power consumption reflecting on performance of LS and even burning it up.

It will support both however we do recommend using a USB drive with external power.
