Title: Disk Cannot be Mounted Warning e-mails from Linkstation Pro
Post by: davidsco27 on December 23, 2011, 06:01:37 PM

Over the past week or so I've begun getting random e-mails from my Linkstation Pro:

DISK Error Notification

HDD error occurred
Disk(s) the error occurred:"Disk 1"

Disk cannot be mounted.

[LinkStationInformation]
LinkStationName: Server (LS-VL)
Time: 2011/12/23 15:39:21
Setting Screen: http://192.168.1.7/

However, the drive is fully accessible, seems to be operating normally, and a disk check showed no problems. I did a restore, per Phone Tech's advice, and got another warning emal after.

If you are receiving these errors but are not encountering any trouble accessing the data on your system I would recommend you restore the unit to the factory default settings through the interface.  This will not delete any data on the system but will restore the unit to a DHCP IP address setting and restore the admin account to the defaults.

Also the latest firmware for the unit is now 1.60, if you haven't applied this latest update to the unit please do so.  If the problem persists after the update and the restore I would highly recommend you contact our 24/7 support at 866.752.6210 so that we can better help you with this issue.

Thanks for the useless advice. That's been done several times, and I have the latest firmware which, by the way, is now 1.62. This is also the 2nd unit with the SAME problem as you already wasted my time by replacing one.  This has been brought to your attention MANY times now, you have been aware of it through MANY firmware updates and have yet to address it.  Why don't you start with "We are aware of the problem" admitting it, and then actually doing something to correct it?

And, now I have a brand new 2TB one, and guess what, it's STILL doing it.  Latest Firmware, and the incompetent morons STILL haven't fixed this problem
