This drive was hanging up after a minute when trying to copy data to it.
I was trying to update firmware from 1.03 to 1.04.
I am connected via a cat5 cable directly to the terastation.
The updater connects, uploads the file, the unit reboots and everything looks good, then the uploader uploads another file, give the message "Transfer firmware is complete. Waiting for writing firmware".
Then it times out saying "Terastation can't respond for 200 seconds. Retry Again?"
I've tried 3 or 4 times.
Any advice?

I was finally able to get firmware to load.
I unplugged the first hard drive in the array, rebooted the terastation and then for some reason the firmware update loaded completely and all is good.
to be even more clear.
I turned the device off, unplugged the first hard drive in the array, restarted the device with the first hard drive unplugged and let it come up, of course it gives a hard drive missing error. Then I loaded the latest firmware, let it reboot and do it's thing. now, I have started copying all the data off the device still with the hard drive unplugged.
