Hi everyone, thanks for the great help you provide here.
I am currently dealing with my LS Pro Duo (first steps : http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/LS-WTGL-2-To-Cannot-go-in-EM-Mode/m-p/84115).
I'm now trying to oper data recovery with TestDisk but it doesn't work as usual.
I do not really understand how the partitions are working on LS Pro Duo.
Do I have to connect the 2 hard drive in USB to extract datas ? Or can I proceed one by one (i was in RAID 0).
Do you ever dealed with that kind of data recovery ?
Thanks for your help,
Brice.
The disadvantage of RAID 0 is that you must mount both drives. One by one will not work.
If one disk is dead, the other disk is useless.
Each drive has 6 partitions. Look for partition 6 in each disk. The partitions are XFS formatted as raid components.
Ok, thanks.
Now I understand how RAID 0 works.
I try some raid recovery software, but there's some informations I need I do not know how to find.
How can I know :
- first sector of each disk ?
- blocks size ?
- datas blocks ?
Thanks a lot for helping me !
Take a look ant this output from my LS-WXL running FW 1.54, RAID0.
The drives were formatted with FW 1.54. If the drives are formatted with FW 1.37 or lower, then the partition scheme starts with sector 63 and partition boundaries are different. (because the changes in drivers sector size in more recent drives). So, it is very important to kwon which was the factory firmware installed. Of course end of partition 6 depends on drive size.
(parted) print
Model: WDC WD10EADS-22M2B0 (scsi)

6 14008320s 1937508319s 1923500000s primary
Output for /dev/sdb is identical. Partition 6 is the data partition and is XFS formatted.
The FW was the last one for this model : 3.09. (http://www.buffalo-technology.com/support/getfile/?LS-WTGL_fw3.09.zip)
Is there any chance I can find these infirormations somewhere for mine ?
Cause testdisk is apparently useless right now and that the kind of software I seems to need..
You should try UFS explorer.
Hi,
Were you able to recover your data? I have having similar problem and need to find a way to extract or recover my data.
