I'm trying to view videos on my Link Station from my Sony Bravia TV. The Link Station appears in the TV's list of devices but despite having .avi files in the main shared folder of the Link Station, the TV does not see any of the video files. Do I need to have a specially named folder? I've set the main shared folder as the public folder in the media server settings but can't think of what else I need to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if this is the model number or not, but the name listed on the web access page is LS-WVL8C4. The firmware is updated to the latest version 1.54

If it can see the folder but not the videos then it cannot play the video type. Contact sony and get a test video file from them that they know works and drop it on the Linkstation and see if it can play that.

In my case, Bravia was showing all sorts of weird folders, disorganized files arranged according to "music", "video", Photos" etc. so  I set my Linkstation to share a specifc directory (i.e. Movies).,  but now the Bravia still shows the same list as the beginning and not just the ones under "Movies".
