Title: LinkStation mini LS-WSGL/R1 : disk suddenly unformatted
Post by: S_R_V on October 19, 2011, 04:20:16 PM

I have a LinkStation mini LS-WSGL/R1 (1To / RAID0 / FW 1.06) which I used without problem for some months.

Suddenly, access not possible to "share" folder. I can access only to the "info" folder.

NAS Navigator 2.32 indicates that the disk is "unformatted" and Web interface is available.

Blinking red led error code : 14 - The RAID cannot be mounted

Actions already done without success

     perform disk checking (web interface)

     restore defaults (maintenance/initialization)

perform a "Force Firmware" update (1.06)

I would like to know if there is a chance to retrieve my data ? How ?

What will happen if I perform a "Force Firmware" update with option "Rebuild partition table" ?

Is it possible to recover data on my disk (on the network) with UFS Explorer (Windows) ?

Thanks for your help

You keep it in RAID 0?!?! This offers no redundancy. You have had an issue with one of the HDD's and now your only option is to delete and recreate the RAID. your data is gone.

How do you do that?  I.E. start from scratch.  Assume you have no NAS web interface to help you.
