Title: DriveStation HD-CEU2 -Vertical and/or Horizontal?
Post by: tvccs on January 10, 2009, 06:42:13 PM

I have read conflicting info on this on the Web...and I can't find any specifics on this Web site.  Some discussions suggest these drives can only be used vertically, while vendors describe both vertical and horizontal use.  Which is correct?  Thanks.

You should be able to have it either way as long your not moving while its writing... Though being that the feet are only on one side of the unit, I would recommend using it vertically as it seems to have been intended.

Thanks for that feedback, but I'd prefer to stack the drives horizontally in most cases...hence my question.

yeah I understand, it should work either way. The HDD is going to be the same as one you would put into your computer (even horizontally in computer) so I do not see why you couldn't that with these. I just meant that Im not sure that Buffalo themselves attended for this to be on it's side!

It might have something to do with cooling, and air flow.
