After stupidly formatting both my drives in our CloudStor, I need to go through the TFTP boot and Force firmware update. There was no CS-WV2.0 TFTP Boot Recovery available from the suggested ftp://24.153.165.234/array1/share/nas-recovery/ . I tried the available CS-WX, but it didn't work. The boot images get loaded, the data blocks get served ok, and I successfully get all the way to step 11 on the Force Firmware update FAQ. Then, after clicking update and watching the green bar optimstically move towards the end...error!
Running Buffalo CloudStor Series Updater Ver. 1.02
Get the message - " Can't confirm response. Check the IP of the device and PC. Disable Firewall. Update aborted" (I paraphrased)
IP address on PC was set to 192.168.11.1
IP address on CS-WV was set to 192.168.11.150
Windows Firewall was disabled 100%
Anyone have any brilliant suggestions? Use the proper TFTP boot recovery? Did I use the wrong firmware version? (127)
I desparetly need this back up ASAP, we're running document management through this between our few small offices, and without it productivity has sunk, and things are becoming a mess. Thanks!
I used this file for my CS-XWL, it should work on a LS-WVL.
ftp://24.153.165.234/array1/share/nas-recovery/TFTP%20Boot%20Recovery%20CS-WX%201.01.exe
CS-WVL are a faster version and they share the same firmware.
Firmware version is OK.
Are you using a direct cable connection?
If not, try it.
What about antivirus?
Have you tried with one disk only?
I am also looking to rebuild a CS-WV2.0/1D. I understand you saying you think it should work with the boot image for the wx, but is there a correct one somone could throw on your ftp for this model? there is still nothing in the ftp folder for that model, I would be really suprised if the firmware would be interchangable with the WX, a model with completely different hardware. I have bricked hardware with the wrong firmwares in the past and would not like to relive that experience. thanks in advance!
