The only option for remote access on the Linkstation Pro is to use FTP. Enable FTP in Shared Folder Setup-> Service Setup, set up a user in User Management, then you can connect to it locally using an FTP client such as Filezilla ( http://filezilla-project.org/ ). To access it remotely, you will need to forward ports TCP 20-21 to the IP address of the Linkstation ( try checking out www.portforward.com ). Once that is done, you can access your public IP address ( the router's WAN side IP address ) with the FTP client from anywhere on the internet.
