Title: setting an IP address
Post by: blissland on January 04, 2009, 11:07:20 PM
I just connected a Buffalo storage device to our network at work.  Previously this device was on a network where it had a static address of 10.1.0.2 but now i need to change it so it has a static address in the 10.2 range along with everything else on our network.  The storage device is connected via ethernet.  How do I change its IP address?  Can I change it somehow from my MacbookPro (10.5.6)?

Another thing to consider is to try downloading the NAS Navigator program available http://www.buffalotech.com/support/downloads/ for your model name (TeraStation/Linkstation). Run that program and it should tell you what the IP address is of the device. Enter that IP into your web browser to enter the device's interface. You can set the IP from the Network tab on most Buffalo interfaces.
