Title: Linkstation - Disk full syndrom
Post by: PhRose on June 14, 2011, 03:31:30 AM

Hello,

Last week we had the "disk full syndrom" on our LinkStation Pro Duo (no shares access, etc.). So we lost one year of backups.

When looking at the forum, it seems that this problem is pending since at least a year, but the firmware is still the same (3.09). You guys from Buffalo do you intend to fix it one of these days and provide a new firmware ? There is no use having a RAID configuration if we cannot access our data for the simple reason that the disk is full !!!

Thank you,

Philippe Rose

That is not the latest firmware. The latest firmware is 3.10. Are you able access the data through Windows? How about through FTP? Is the unit actually completely full according to the web interface? What happens when you try and delete a share that has some data in it? You should never fill up any hard drives to their full capacity.

I'm having the same situation. I inherited a network with 2 Buffalo NAS drives (Model LS-CH500L) as backups and now one of them is showing as full. I have cleared approximately 300Gb of old data off it and yet it is still showing as 100% full.

I have tried running a disk check through the browser interface but get hit with a "session has expired, log in again" message.

Does anyone have any ideas?

two things, 1-What is the firmware 2- If you have created a trash box when creating the folder, you need to go and empty the trash box as well, otherwise still keeps the space

Trashbox.... *facepalm*

Well, now I feel sheepish. Thanks Realborat that seems to have done the trick.
