Title: How to solve slow data transfer TS live
Post by: stimpy4 on January 02, 2009, 02:19:50 PM

I have a TS Live HS-DHTGLD14  raid 5 with Linksys RVS4000 Gigabit router and Linksys Gigabit switch. All cat 6 cables and gigabit Ethernet Cards.

When transferring an ISO file of 4.3 GB to the TS live it takes 13 minutes or more.

When copying it back to the PC it takes 67 minutes.

When accesing a photofolder from the PC on the TS, it takes 8 seconds to load every 2 photos.

Impossible to scroll through the folder with only 100 pics of 1 mb each.

To stream a DVD from Video TS folder is impossible. This was the reason I bought it.

So far useless for streaming only very very slow storage.

I read some people have it working right, can  anybody assist ?

Make sure the firmware is up to date, also you can change the packet sizes from the web interface of the NAS, the option is under network settings.
