Device Model: CS-WV
Firmware Version: 1.01 build 1.21
Installed a new CloudStor 2.0TB Pro and no matter what I try on the System...Date/Time settings (manual or automatic), the device date (and ultimately new folder create dates) set themselves back to February 7, 2036 1:28AM. My device timezone is set for UTC-05:00 Eastern Time (US & Canana).
This appears to be a firmware bug, but I cannot believe others are not experiencing similar issues or posting comments about strange folder create date/times on the CloudStor device. Also, automatic device firmware updates are set to "enabled".
Please advise if anyone has seen this behavior. Thanks.
I guess I am just the only poor sap with a CloudStor device that seems to be stuck on system date 02/07/2036 at 1:28am. Repeated changes of system date/time (manually or automatic) always correctly sets the CloudStor to my current web client system date/time, however all I have to do is click on any other section under "device settings" and them back to "status" and I'm set to 02/07/2036 1:28am. Also, it doesn't matter which browser I use (although I am making sure I use Internet Explorer to access the CloudStor device).
My 2TB Pro version is idling at home with mirrored drives and no folders or files...awaiting a firmware update to get me out of the future and back to 2011. : (
I actually did help someone with this issue before. We did a restore in the interface under the maintenance tab and then changed the time again and that fixed it.
UPDATE: Well, after a few calls with Buffalo CloudStor Technical Support, as well as exchanging my CloudStor 2TB Pro with another new CS-WV2.0/1D CloudStor Pro unit from Amazon.com (thanks Amazon), I have reached the following conclusion....all CloudStor 2TB Pro units are leaving the Buffalo factory with system date stuck on 02-07-2036 at 01:28am. Both of these units do the same exact thing. Amazon allows me 30 days to ship back the "exchange/defective unit", and both of these brand new CloudStor units date all new folders 02-07-2036, no matter what firmware is installed or what steps of device "restore/reset" I attempt.
Am I the only one who uses the folder create date in Windows explorer or PogoPlug P: drive to help me determine when I copied content to the CloudStor or when I need to sort folders from most recent to oldest date?
I guess my next step is to contact PogoPlug support and see if they have any ideas, even though the CloudStor device clearly shows this random future date in the System....Settings...Device....Date/Time field. I even noticed that the brand new replacement CloudStor had the 02-07-2036 01:28am date/time grayed out in the uneditable "manual date/time" fields the very first time i logged into it, even thought it was set to automatic.
Thanks.
I also had a problem with my first Buffalo Cloudstor Pro that would not allow the installation of the 2d hard drive. I received the swcond Cloudstor Pro and have had no issues, also there is no problem with the date. Maybe Buffalo is now shipping Cloudstor Pro's that are manufactured correctly. I purchased mu Cloudstor Pro through Amazon - they're the best service.
I just received my device from Amazon two days ago and it appears to have the correct date. Maybe Buffalo fixed that issue.
