Title: MiniStation TurboUSB Portable Hard Drive
Post by: ObliqueFault on December 31, 2008, 03:05:26 PM

Hello.  I'm having trouble with the above product, Model No. HD-PF250U2/BK.  When I try to stop it with the system tray icon, it always tells me the device cannot be stopped right now, and to try again later.  It is letting me store data onto it, though.  Judging from the vibrations, though, the drive is constantly spinning, whether I'm actively using it or not.

I'm using Windows XP.  I didn't install the Memeo AutoBackup or SecureLockWare utilities.

Any help you can give will be appreciated.

The format is FAT32, so I don't think that's the problem.  I tried reformatting to NTFS, just in case, and got a message telling me that I needed to quit any disk utilities and other programs using the drive and try again.  I just went through my processes, and I don't think anything's accessing the drive.

What other software are you running with it, Memeo, or the encryption software?

Try removing them and see if that is the issue.
