Title: Terastation IS iSCSI network storage

I am trying to setup access on a TeraStation IS iSCSI network storage device (firmware 1.01) that is across a WAN link (not on the same subnet as I am on).  I would like to be able to FTP to the unit or setup a folder share but it appears that with the iSCSI type unit only works when on the same subnet.  I purchased two identical units one for the local subnet to be used as a backup device and the other for a remote office to provide an offsite backup.  I would like to sync the information on the local subnet to the remote on a weekly basis but for some reason I can not find any documentation or help on how to access the device on a remote subnet. 

 

My guess is that I purchased the wrong device for the remote office that doesn't have server.  I should have purchased a standard TeraStation II rackmount that supports FTP.  I'm adding this post to confirm my suspicion.

   That's right for that to work with this product you would need to have some kind of tunnel between the locations.
