I have had my TeraStation running for about 3 years now. I have it setup as in Raid5. I have had to replace two hard drives that have failed. When I restart the server, the new drives were recognized and the Raid re-set its self up. That has been in the past and has nothing to do with current problem.

 

I now have a new problem that I can't figure out. All 4 drives are blinking red indicating they are over 90% full. I know they are not. The diagnostic light on the front is blinking one blink every four seconds indicating a RAID Error. I cannot access any of my info. The folders are their but when I click on them I get a message "Windoes cannot access\\TERASTATION\Audible". There is an option to diagnose but I get a message telling me the folder exits but windows cannot find it. When I click on details I get a specific Error code: 0x80070043.

 

I have reset the server, I have run a disk scan (telling me there are errors) and I have checked the firware which is current.

 

Any ideas on how to correct this?

Make sure that all of the Trash boxes are disabled in the share folder set up.

try to remove one drive.  It should let you in at that point to delete some data or trash.  Replace the drive and restructure it.

 

 also try flashing the firmware on the unit.

When you say remove one drive, I assume you don't mean physically take it out but to disable it through the client? 

 

I tried flashing the firmware but it wouldn't let me as it already has the most current firmware loaded. I did find a previous post on how to force it to accept a reload but the images uploaded with the previos post are no longer available.

 

Could you please post the forced firware update procedure for a TeraStation Home Server again?

   You create a shortcut to the utility on your desktop, then right click and select properties, after that click on the shortcut tab and in the targets field, add a space after the quotation marks and add /force. Then run the updater from the shortcut.
