Send me your serial number and I will see if I can get it added to the website. Buffalo is working on fixing the issue with the website.

Serial numbers are going to a be a 14 digit code on the back of the unit. Examples start with a 958, 458 and 158.

Don't works for me, too

Is there any solution?

My solution is to return the product to Amazon and move on.  This forum, email and futile attempts to call Buffalo are all in vain.  Good luck to you.

I would like to offer my kudos to Amazon who agreed to the return even though its was 2 weeks outside the retunr policy window.

the only thing you actually need to setup the unit is the Nas Navigator which could of been downloaded from the following link

HI All,

I am located in Australia, and I also am unable to get the Buffalo software downloads - my serial number gets rejected. The reason I need the downloads is becuase my system would not recognise the Buffalo External USB Drive until I re-formatted it to NTFS. By reformating it, I lost the software tools on the drive.

I have to say that this is all really disappointing, particularly since I bought the Buffalo as an "out of the box" plug and play solution - not!!!

Help to access and download the Buffalo tools would be a great help to me please.

Thank you.

are you trying to download from the Australian Buffalotech download site? An Australian serial number will not work on the USA Buffalotech download site.

HI again,

Thanks for getting back to me. I didn't even know there was an Australian website for BuffaloTech! Although I spent hours hunting on the web, I failed to discover this. I have found the Aussie website now, so thanks.

But, this still leaves the question - why couldn't my PC "see" the Buffalo USB drive when I plugged it in? Why did I have to format the whole 2 TB as NTFS before my PC would recognise the USB drive? From what I've read on the web, I'm only one of many people who has had this problem - so what's Buffalo doing about it?

Finally, why doesn't Buffalo include an istallation CD in the box so everyone knows what to do, rather than having to download the Buffalo software and chewing up bandwidth and data allocation???

Cheers
