I'm having a problem with defining the DLNA Media Server Settings with PCast. When the GUI on PCast opens, it says:

 

Software error:

substr outside of string at module/BufPCastDLNADiscoverClient.pm line 166, <FILE> line 5.

For help, please send mail to the webmaster (admin@localhost), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

 

 

Below that there are few options for defining DLNA settings (last one is "Confirm password" ). There isn't "Apply" button to be pushed nor option for DLNA client definitions.

 

I even tried to force the firmware (already on 2.10) but that didn't help at all. Any advices?

Try setting the unit back to factory defaults from the web interface.  This will force the unit to boot off of the new firmware you up-loaded.

   

Nope, that didn't help. It seems that everything else on Linkstation works fine except of that PCast. Software Error with the same message than before..

 

Next step?

   That error looks like Perl scripting, which is what the interface is written in. You also seem to be missing some other options as well. If a firmware flash and a factory reset don't clear those up, it's time to contact your local Buffalo support office and get a replacement.

   

Okay, I'll take it back to store for a replacement. Thanks for the help anyway.

Hello.

 

I have the same problem described here but with error message:

 

"substr outside of string at module/BufPCastDLNADiscoverClient.pm line 187, <FILE> line 3."

 

No save button to save PCast settings.

 

Firmware update to 2.11 did not help. Restore factory settings did not help. Also seems that everything else is working fine.
