Title: Can you change the hostname on Linkstation EZ LS-500GL?
Post by: softbreeze on December 18, 2008, 06:58:50 PM

Is it possible to change the hostname on an LS-500GL?

If so how?

I'm not using webaccess.

Thanks

If you log in via the IP address it will be under the basic settings.

I must be missing something here.

I connect to the EZ LS-500GL using http://192.168.10.4

and enter my password. I get a screen that allows me to setup web access.

It has a place for a DNS Hostname but only if you setup web access and specify a port number. This is not what I want to do.

All I want to do is change the name of the NAS device from LS-LGL845 to LSNas2.

This device is connected to my local area network that is isolated behind a firewall.

What am I doing wrong?
