Title: .New Drive
Post by: golfbum on December 16, 2008, 10:02:56 AM
I just purchased and installed one of your hd-pf320u2 hard drives.

Firstly, it came with no CD, but I think all the importand files are on the drive. Correct?

I ran Memeo and did a back up. I am using Vista and after doing some reading, learned that I should have re-formatted the dist to NTFS.
If I use your Format tool to do that now, what will I lose?

Should I copy the important files elswherr and moved them back after the format?

If so, what files should I copy?

Any other info that might help me.

I would copy off all of the recovery tools on the drive, (your back up software for example).  Different drive models come with different software, however you will see all the buffalo files on the drive I would copy them all before formatting the drive.  When you format the drive you will lose every thing.  I would also go to memeo.com for a free newer version of memeo that is made for vista.

That should put you in good shape.  If you need more information please let us know.
