Title: Linkstation Live LS-CHL and external USB hard drive
Post by: adammazza on December 14, 2008, 05:17:10 PM

Hi,

I just picked up a Linkstation Live and upgraded the firmware to 1.01. I also connected a 500GB WD external HD. The drive is recognized and I was able to format it as XFS, but when I go to create shares I am unable to select this disk. Ideally I'd like to use this disk for my Time Machine backups. Is there anythere else I need to do? The manual doesn't really cover this.

Thanks

Adam

You cant create a share with a USB drive as it is technically already a share. You can only create additional shares on the internal HDD of the linkstation.

Thanks
