Title: Link Station Live Backup
Post by: doug96007 on December 13, 2008, 06:28:32 PM

I am trying to Backup my HS-DS750L to my HS-DS500 but in the drop down menu the only option is the usb disk one. I previously backed up to usb disk one but have since removed the usb disk. How do I get it to backup to the link station?

Thanks

Doug

Are both devices on the same network?  Are both firmware's up to date?

When you add the linkstation what happens if you put the IP address into the additional linkstation field?

Adding the IP address in the additional linkstation feild still does not add it to backup destionation in the drop down menu. Only one option shows in drop down menu destination, my usb drive that is no longer attached.

That usually indicates that something is blocking it.  Try setting this up on a hub or an unmanaged switch with static IP's.  It is possible your router has a lan side fire wall that could be interrupting it.
