Title: HS-DH500GL attached USB disk partitions and spindown

   I have attached a buffalo drivestation to my HS-DH500GL NAS it has 3 partitions and i cannot see any of those ..also the usb disk keeps spinning is there anyway to use powersave on the usb disk?

As far as im aware you cannot use the power saving mode while the DS it connected to the LS (it can only be used when connected directly to a PC)

 

Regarding the partition, has been said many time before, the LS cannot read NTFS based file systems, it has to be in XFS or EXT3 (or FAT32 for read only)

   I think you got me wrong my external HDD is formatted with 4 partitions 3 of them are ext3 and one is FAT32 . I am not able to see all partitions!

The Linkstation will not be able to access multiple partitions on an attached USB drive, it will likely only see the first partition.
