Recently purchased a Linkstation Pro LS-XHL1.0TL with Firmware Ver 1.34
NASNavigator version 2.28
On my Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit version PC and my Vista 32 bit laptop I get
"Failed mapping. Remote default share is missing" when I try to map a drive to the NAS either by using the IP address, the name of the system, and by calling it Linkstation
The NASNavigator shows the NAS on the network.
Still get the message when I shut off ZoneAlarm anti-virus & firewall completely. Windows firewall is off too.
As far as I can tell I've got all the network sharing set as about as low as it go security wise.
My old Windows XP PC does not have the problem and works fine. I mapped the shared NAS drives easily. All 3 computers use the AT&T UVerse router that the Linkstation is plugged into.
How do I get the Vista machines to see the Linkstation? Tried what I saw in the forums but no joy.
Thanks.

Did you set LAN auth. level to "Send LM & NTLM responses"? If not check thaitwat's post here:

Is this software also on the XP machine?
