Title: LS-WS500GL - Does the latest firmware have SFTP or not?
Post by: ken2468 on September 01, 2010, 10:39:35 PM

Hello,

I'm interested in purchasing a Linkstation Mini model LS-WS500GL  but I am wondering if this device with the 'latest' firmware (from 2008?!) supports SFTP (FTP over SSH) or not?

The specs says FTP but that is the original firmware.

This is really a deal breaker and disappointing.

Who actually uses FTP for backing up or transfering files from remote servers. It's not 1999.

Edit: By the way, I did notice that the newer model does specify SFTP (on the webpage).... but I am interested in the older model.

Edit 2: Looking at the manual it only specifics FTP for the Linkstations. Which models actually have SFTP with latest firmware?
