Title: Quad drops out during firmware update
Post by: mhutchins on August 27, 2010, 01:23:31 PM

I've had nothing but trouble with my quad. Performance is poor, drops off the network every few minutes, and now am attempting to reinstall the firmware hoping it will help with more problems. Every time I attempt a firmware update it gets part way done and then the connection is lost. What is with this piece of garbage? I spent over $600 for a oversized paper weight. I will NEVER buy another Buffalo product again. I work in IT and this product has been nothing but trouble. Anything that will help me get this thing on line so I can copy my files elsewhere is greatly appreciated. When I save the files I'll pull the drives and crush the rest at the e-recycler. No, I'm not kidding.

First, may I have the model and firmware version per our guidelines?  Second, please refer to rule 10 here.  When posting only twice without asking for help, just complaining and giving a very vague outline of what the problem is well, that's not very nice.  I will say I understand your frustration with the NAS given I've helped users in the past with this device.  So, can we start fresh here?
