Title: LS - XHL Problem
Post by: secaboy on August 20, 2010, 02:55:51 AM

Hi,

Just having a few problems with my NAS i have purchased, it's a LS-XHL. I have followed the instructions that came with it no problems there, but then after a few hours of just letting the NAS just sit there and idle the blue light on the top begin to start blinking and not responding.

I then tried to gain access to the NAS via the software but still no response..... Then i mounted the hard drive to my computer and deleted all the partitions on the HDD and then remounted it in the NAS and still nothing. When i go to open TFTP Boot it just sits there and doesn't respond..

I thought it might be the HDD so today i went out and bought another HDD only to get it home now and it do the same thing and not respond in the TFTP Boot mode.

Do you have any solutions for me as i am getting really frustrated with it and would like it to run smoothly.

Thanks, Chris

When you say a new hard drive did you get a new unit, or swap the drives inside the unit that you currently own?  Also please try to place the unit in EM mode prior to attempting a TFTP boot.

When you perform an EM boot no blocks are served via TFTP.  Then if the blocks aren't being served on to the new drives something is being blocked.  Provided you performed all of the TFTP steps to the letter the only conclusion I can draw is that you have a firewall/countermeasure software running.  We try to answer posts as quickly as we can, please don't bump if it's been less than 24 hours.
