Title: <1MB/Sec Copy rate with 4TB Linkstation Duo
Post by: ChrisJD on August 19, 2010, 08:57:41 AM

I just set up my new 4TB Linkstation Duo (Raid1) and just tranfering files across our hard wired 1GB LAN.  Copying files from Vista 64 bit machine via cable via a 1 GB Netgear switch.

Overall I have about 1 TB to copy from HDs on my PC and have just tried it with a few folders (total 18 GB) and am getting copy rate of 0.5MB/sec to 0.9MB/sec.

Surely it should  be faster than this (we also have a Linkstation Duo at work & don't recall it being this slow for initial file transfer).

Hope it is a smiple set up issue.

Thanks in advance

So after about 1/2 an hour, the tranfer rate has now jumped to 4 MB/sec

Is the new machine just bedding in !?

It's possible, was the ethernet frame size adjusted at any point?
