Title: Trying to flash firmware but the LinkStation that needs updating wasn't found (LS-CH1.0TL)
Post by: Chipboard on August 15, 2010, 10:52:36 AM

Hi all, so my LinkStation 1.0 TB NAS drive is stuck in Emergency Mode. I'm trying to force firmware update. When using the utility it just tells me that "LinkStation that needs updating wasn't found" as per the below screenshot. As per the next screenshot, the LinkStation is being found in NASNavigator2. This is while using the Debug screen and choosing Force Firmware update. Any thoughts please? I'm running Windows XP, over a wireless network, and I'm not sure what Firmware my drive is currently running as I can't find anywhere it will tell me at the moment.

Thanks,

First check to make sure you have the right firmware downloaded. Second you have to have all of your firewalls turned off. If that doesn't work, you should try booting your computer into safemode with networking. Usually booting into safemode with networking will take care of any firewalls blocking the ports. Another thing that will stop the firmware from updating is, having the NasNavigator running. It uses the same ports for communication as the firmware does. Try these ideas, if they work, let me know.
