Hello everyone, I am a techie but this is all new to me as far as buffalo nas goes. I bought this LS CHLv2 of ebay and it arrived without a HD in it. No big worries as i had western digital 1TB drive in the house to fit in it. Here is were the problems started. after fitting the hard drive i got hit with the E06 error which i believe is quite common. Did some research on the forums and so just downloaded and ran the TFTP Boot recovery. All that went perfect and the nas came back up in EM mode.
Launched LSUpdater which found the drive first time. Changed the debug options and hit update. The transfer of firmware looked like it went ok. The next stage is the format of the drive. Here lies my problem. Its failing on an ACP_STATE_PASSWORD_FAILURE error and will not format the drive. I wiped the partitions off the drive and tried again but got hit with the same message. Whatever i do i get this error.
Any help would be amazing!

Even though the drive may be in EM mode please try to place it there manually, as manually entering EM mode, will also reset basic settings such as PW, samba settings. EM Mode Procedure
Thanks for that. Its defo in EM mode now but the firmware is still failing to an ACP_STATE_PASSWORD_FAILURE. Is there anyway to reset the password this applies too?
The only way to reset the password is by using the EM mode procedure
