Title: HD-H2.0TGL/R5 Support
Post by: JimAckley on August 08, 2010, 11:15:31 PM

A  woman came into my RadioShack looking to get rid of some computer equipment since we do trade-ins, and ended up giving me a HD-H2.0TGL/R5, a monitor, and Saitek Eclipse.  I did a full RAID 5 setup on the drive, and then when I came home the bottom left light was blinking red, so obviously one of the drives has gone awry on me.  What drive can I replace it with? Or better yet, is upgrading to a larger capacity possible at all in this model?  If not, that's fine, as 2.0 TB of network storage is quite nice to have as is, but if a full 4 TB was attainable, I'd like to make that move.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Jim

A standard 500GB IDE drive will do, this unit will not support anything bigger.

So just any normal 500GB drive off of Newegg.com should do?  They don't have to be the same make/model?  I just wanted to make sure before I do any buying and mess anything up.  I've never had anything with multiple drives and RAID capability before so I want to take every precaution to not screw it up haha.

Any drive will do, once its the same size, rpm and ideally cache as the other disks.
