Our home network had been working great for over a year with the Link Station Pro Duo as our NAS...plugged directly into a Cisco WRT160N router. I've used Network Magic as our network management software with an XP computer and the Link Station has always appeared on the network map as an access point drive on the network. Recently, my wife bought a new 64-bit Dell desktop with Windows 7 (wired to the router) and everything has changed. Network Magic on the new machine doesn't see the Linkstation on the network or the network map. I CAN access the drive files, but through Network places. The Linkstation is no longer availabe to the other computers wirelessly connected on the home network because it doesnt appear in Network Magic. Both the Dell support folks and the Network Magic folks told me that I needed a new router, so I bought a Cisco E3000 router. That didnt help anything except the bottom line at Cisco. Same problems. Can't see the Linkstation Pro Duo on the network. Cisco tek support folks said that it may be the Link Station. Is that possible? I have recently upgraded the firmware in hopes of some improvement in the situation. No apparent change.
Can anyone help? Our family relies upon our home network and the Link Station for our respective files.
Thanks!
You want to isntall the nas navigator to find the unit's ip address and map a network drive to. This is the most stable method of connecting to the unit. You can download the nas navigator from the downloads section on buffalotech.com
Have you tried manually mapping the drive?
