Title: HD-CE500U2 not recognized

my external hard drive is 6 mths old it worked fine at the beginning but now it is not regonized   by the computer     i have win 7  .  hard drive model no. is HD-CE500U2 .   WOULD IT NEED A UPDATE OF SOME KIND .                                                           THANKS YOU

Were you using Win7 at the time of first using this device?  Does the drive show up in Disk Management?  Has the drive been encrypted using the Secure Lockware utility?  Is there any audible clicking when the drive is connected to your computer?
