Title: LinkStation Duo: RAID Scan <-> Disk Check
Post by: traveller on July 28, 2010, 09:52:42 AM

Hi there,

the manual of the Linkstation Duo says it would be recommended to perform a RAID Scan on a regular basis. How often would you do that? Weekly? Once per month?

And what would you say is more important for a healty system: Performing the disk check (is this option the same as the DOS command?) regularly or performing the RAID Scan regularly?

A final question: Is there any way to read the SMART data of the two hard drives of the NAS?

Thanks, Traveller

Suggested every 3-4 weeks run a disk check if it is used often, otherwise every 2-3 if under a light usage
