Title: TS-RIGL/R5 is shutting down after 2 minutes with a hdd4 error
Post by: deh384 on July 25, 2010, 06:22:57 PM

We have been running this unit for 2 years with no config changes - good times.

The UPS failed and the unit lost power.

After restart the unit boots, comes online ond runs for 2 minutes and the shuts down with a HDD error.

I replaced the disk and it still shuts down with a "NO array Info: message.

I tried removing hdd4 and got the same message..

How do I keep it up long enough to find out what is going on inside???

Buffalo iSCSI Rackmount
TS-RIGLAD9 (TS-RIGL/R5)
model cs-r-14-0pglr5
serial 95823780800152

We had a UPS failure and the iSCSI lost power

When it was restarted It booted up normally
and shuts down after about 2 minutes.
operation mode I12
degraded
hd4 error e23
hd4 is faulty
NO web access - ethernet is down - unit is shutdown

The following error emails are sent to the admin.

I removed HD4 and restarted.
with HD4 removed.
Error E16
No Array Info
Emergency mode
No array
and it shuts down
NO web access - ethernet is down - unit is shutdown

I thought it would run with 1 bad drive.

What do I do and how do I get this thing running properly ASAP.

thanks

disable the automatic shutdown in the RAID setup tab under disk management.

Once done restructure the RAID array.
