I have a Linkstation Pro 1.5TB LS-XHL
Connected to a Buffalo AirStation Nfiniti
All connected with CAT6 cables.
Windows7 64bit
What is the speed I should be getting on this product? I am currently only getting 11MBytes/s reading and writing, which is the speed of a 100Mb connection. If I connect up the NAS drive directly to my PC, the connection only registers as 100Mb/s and I get the 11MB/s speed.
If I connect my PC up to the Router, using the same CAT6 cable, the connection registers as 1Gbit/s. Once i connect the NAS drive to the router, it will still only transfer at 11MB/s.
So all this seems to point to the LinkStation only connecting at 100Mbit.
Anyone else have similar issues? Is there a way to force it to use a Gigabit connection. Looking at reviews, I chould be getting around 40MB/s, and the box itself suggests 66MB/s should be possible.

your PC is not gigabit so how do you expect to get gigabit speeds?
really? must have imagined it connecting to my router at 1Gb/s then. Please be more polite and actually read the problem.
Am in touch with Buffalo tech support now anyway, they are VERY helpful.
Average transfer speed is going to be about 5-7 minutes per GB. That is the fastes the processor can handle. They do have a gigabit port, but what that means is the port will not bog down a gigabit network. Remember the port speed means what the port is compatible with, it's never an indication of how fast the device will transfer at.
