HI,
I've just purchased a Link Station Live 1.0TB and I have followed the install program, initially it failed to find the device, but I noticed the top blue light flashes for about a minute and then goes steady, but the bottom light is not on at all. If I click on the "Next" option on the install instruction step 4 whilst it is flashing the install fails. However if I wait for the light to become steady the LinkStation is found. After clicking on the device highlighted a window reports "Setting up Link Station" after a while I get a screen which says "Did not replay the IP setting Command", shows the IP address etc and that's as far as I can get.
I have tried several reboots of PC and Linkstation and used different ports and leads on my Dlink Router, although it is a wireless router I'm using only the RJ45 ports.
My PC is running XP with SP3. I've tried with the firewall and antivrus switched off, still no sucess
The Link Station details from the lables is LS-CH1.0TL-EU, serial number 65845704410048 [[G]]
Any help would save my sanity
While the device is fully booted please download the NAS Navigator and see if the unit is discoverable. If it is than just use the web settings (IP addrees of unit in a browser window) to do the configuration

Thanks for that info, I've done that and the Navigator has found the LS-CHL but the Icon has a question mark superimposed on it, clicking on this brings up this message: [Window is named "LS-CHL-V2_EMA34 has sent information notification"] "information: The EM mode was detected. Update firmware or contact your local tech support" I've then tried to access the network address using IE but it cant find it! John Leicester UK
As the error suggests, update the firmware. Do a search on these forums, there are literally 100's of posts with instructions on how to do this.
