Title: Folder Limitation?
Post by: newbie2010 on July 20, 2010, 05:18:14 AM

Hello,

We have recently purchased Buffalo TS-XLA70 ( 8 TB) and in the process of configuring the same.

While creating the folders inside an array, I did not notice any size field where one can define a folder size. Why??

It will be very difficult to accept if one say that there is no such facility.

Also I could only see Disks 1,2,3,4 with 2 Array options Array1 and Array2.  So does it mean we can not create any arrays further?

This is very strange and would like to know the actual scenario.

Please help.

Regards,

There is not an option to specify quotas for folders.  Unfortunately, there's no workaround for this.  Second, since you only have 4 HDDs and for example you wanted to setup two RAID 1 setups.  That would work.  You can't setup a  RAID 5 and a RAID 1.  4 HDDs in RAID 0 doesn't make any sense.  So on and so on.  With the combinations of RAID available on this unit and I also believe to a miniscule limitation on the firmware you will only need two Array setup possibilities.
