Title: TeraStation PRO - RHTGL85A - Password Char's
Post by: progmatic on July 16, 2010, 09:23:54 AM

I recieved 15 of these devices to deploy at remote sites.  I configured them and sent them out to the sites, scheduled a tech to connect it.

I'm unable to login after changing the password on them to NA$B@ckup

What are the valid characters for the password?

Are the characters in my password illegal?

If so why did it accept the password?

Is there an equivlent (escape chars or something) that i can use to get back into these devices?  I'm going to have a lot of unhappy clients if i need to schedule 15 techs to go reset these things.

Thanks,

progmatic

Well l your only option is to reset them using the reset inside the door.

The characters you can use are alphnumberic, "-" and "_"

I need to send the instructions to reset the device to my remote sites.
What is the procedure to reset the device to defaults?  Just pressing the button behind the front panel?

Yeah, press and hold it for 10 seconds and wait 1 minute. It will revert the password to "password" and the IP back to DHCP.
