I have a Drivestation Duo (hd-w2.0tiu2/r1) that I have connected to my Time Capsule (so that it can be networked). I use the drivestation as a network drive that is plugged into the time capsule by the USB port. I use the Drivestation for itunes and photos and the manual switch is turned on. The problem is that the drive constantly powers down, even when applications on the drive are in use. The drive also does not automatically show up on the desktop when the computers are turned on. I get around this by manually clicking on the drive in the finder menu.
How can I get the drivestation disk to stop powering down and how can I get the drive to automatically show up on the desktop at start-up?
Thanks,
Brian
Hey Brian,
It shouldn't power down or goto sleep if its being used. Mine doesn't so i assume there might be a power-management software that is installed on your mac or propbably some settings that need to be changed.
Any one know how to control the power management software on a mac to prevent the usb (or drivestation) from powering down? How can do I automatically have the drivestation recognized on the Mac at start-up without having to manually select it on the Finder window?
