OK - I have a Buffalo Linkstation HS-DHGL 500GB drive.
It is connected to my Netherlands-LAN and I have assigned a fixed IP address.
Last week I managed to get the thing working at home in England, on my UK-LAN ......... which IS THE SAME AS my Netherlands-LAN in setup:- same router/gateway address, same fixed IP address for my Buffalo Linkstation HS-DHGL etc..
Now, I have come back to work in the Netherlands, and the device is happily connected to my Netherlands-LAN.
I have a Vista PC .................... and also on the LAN are a Win XP PC and a Windows Vista (Dutch language) PC.
PLEASE NOTE: The LinkStation works from both the other PC's on the network.
A difference between my PC and the other two is that mine is the only one to run AVG Anti-Virus Network Edition.
In order to eliminate this as a potention cause of my problem, I have temporarily disabled the Firewall part of AVG,
In my Network window I can see a Windows Media device called HS-DHGLB93 - which successfully opens up Windows media player when I double-click on it
What I do NOT see is a disk storage device!!!
I have three shared folders configured, with security, and I can connect from the other PC's -- but not from mine.
When I run the NAS Navigator, I see the Host Name, Workgroup, IP address, subnet mask, mac address, firmware version (1.06), ---- but what I CANNOT see is the HDD information showing disk usage.
NB: The HDD info is available in the Navigator display on the PC running Windows XP which connects to the Navigator, but is is also NOT visible in the Navigator display on the PC running Windows Vista - yet the shared folders can be access from both these other PC's!!!
What oh What do I do to get access to the shared folders I have configured on the Linkstation????
