Title: Terastation Live Bad Sectors (I11) warning with new drive
Post by: blendq on June 24, 2010, 12:08:03 PM

Hi - my Terastation Live (HS-DH1.0TGL/R5US) has Samsung SP2504C drives. one of them went bad so I went through the procedure of replacing the drive. Once the Raid Array was restructured though, I got the Bad Sectors I11 warning for Disk 2 (the new one I had just added). BTW - the new disk I added was the same exact model as the original one.

I turned the TS Live off again and replaced Drive 2 with yet another new drive (again, same model as the originals) but again, during the restructuring process, I got again the Bad sectors (I11) error.

I find it hard to believe that two new drives would have bad sectors right away and I was wondering whether anyone has any idea why this could have happened before I replace the drive (yet again) with a new drive

Thanks
Blendi

you might have a bad controller in the TS Live, reporting false fails.

Yikes! Does it mean that my TeraStation just became paper weight?!
