The other day I got a ton of notifications via email that a drive was failing in my NAS storage device. So the first question is - How do I identify which drive is failing - I've done a disk check - all comes back fine, all of my indicators are green - I believe there are 4 disks in there and I have them setup as a RAID 5 configuration so in the event one drive dies I can still function, but how to identify which one is dead. This is the message I get:
DISK Error Notification
HDD error occurred
Disk(s) the error occurred:UnknownDisk()
(sde) WRITE sector:63 count:1
Disk writing error
Some data may not be recoverable.
Immediate change of disk is recommended.

Next Question where can I find drive replacements?
Seems as though even the unit is a bit confused. Not to much of a problem, what is suggested is trying to update the firmware if neccessary, current version available for download is 1.10. If you have a earlier version please try to update the firmware. Another option is to take 1 drive out at a time until it boots up normally. As for replacements, if the unit is in warranty an RMA option is available for a replacement, also the units use standard SATA 7200RPM drives
