Title: hd_celu2 needs power cycle to work
Post by: dalejanus on June 22, 2010, 08:35:36 AM

I have 1 tb hd-ce1.0tlu2-us

serial 45506390501965

spare number 001d73 bof46a

It is connected by usb to xp pro computer.  it is formatted ntfs.

I run stomp backup my pc every night after hours, backing up my c drive to the celu2, mapped as g drive.

It seems every few days, the drive disappears.  I arrive with an error message from the backup that the media is not available or something like that.  I check with windows explorer and it shows the drive, but 0 folders.  I power cycle the drive with the switch on the back and everything starts working again.

I don't often access the drive during the day, so I can't say for sure when it goes bad.

I am not using Turbo USB or any buffalo software.

Any suggestions?  I am afraid one day  the power cycle will not work and my files will be missing.
