Okay Im driving myself batty on this one.
I have a Buffalo Nas LS-Q2 that I set a schedule up to backup to a 1 TB USB Drive, The problem is when the backup kicks off it says failed instantly.
Ive tried deleting the jobs and recreating them and nothing. I thought it was the file type so I converted the drive to NTFS, Still Nothing. Can someone help me out what am I doing wrong? There is PLENTY of free space.
The USB drive needs to be EXT3 or XFS, NTFS wont work.
Is that the reason because it was FAT or FAT32, and the drive worked fine when I initially put it in place but it backed up once and never did it again.
That being said is it possible to convert the drive to EXT3 or XFS or does it have to be formatted as such and how is that done?
Log onto the Linkstation GUi => Disk Management => Disk Format => Select USB disk1 and file type XFS (Default)
Then proceed with the format.
Do you think this is the problem as to why its NOT backing up? Why would it have woked once?
