I have a LS-CH1.0TL NAS and have set up itunes on it

My set up is - Itunes running on vista on laptop where I copy music from to Itune which stores the media and the itunes library on the Network drive. Which is mapped and assigned letter S.

A second laptop with windows 7 and iTunes on it with the library also pointing to the NAS and mapped to network drive S.

My problem is when I add media from the Vista laptop it does not show up on iTunes on the second laptop unless I physicaly go and add the folder from within iTunes.

I thought as the library is the sam from bith laptops and is held on the NAS once it is added to one it would also be visale on the other.

Is there any way round this?

I think that the issue that your facing is that the library file (c:\Users\xxx\Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl - this is default) is not the same b/t the 2 computers.  When you add the file it is updating the library on the second computer.

One work around with this would be to get a program (free) such as Sugarsync.  With this, you can set up both computers to sync a folder to the cloud (online file storage).  When you add a cd to iTunes on one computer and then close out iTunes on that computer and open it on the other pc, the files should be synced and then your library would be identicle.

I have the library held on the NAS itself so in theory I don't have to sync anything.

On the Sugarsync note I use this already for excel files etc and share them amongst the laptops and smartphones. It works a treat for that type of stuff so I would urge anyone to check that out too.
