Title: Linkstation Live LS-CHL firmware update query
Post by: MrPez on June 08, 2010, 02:45:50 AM

I'm having problems with my linkstation.  Some of my files are not shown on my samsung DLNA TV (LE32B650) and someone recommend I update the firmware on the linkstation.

The firmware I have at the minute is 1.06 (I think, I'm not at home just now to check though).  I'm using windows XP, SP3.

My question is:  There is a new firmware available - 1.26 but there is a warning that is can cause the death of older units and I'm paranoid that this will happen!  I'm guessing older units means ones not called LS-CHL?  I don't know too much about NAS so just wanted to check before I did anything.

Thanks,

Jonathan

There are in fact 2 versions of the LS-CHL. There is about a two month difference between the releases.  Since you are currently running the 1.06 firmware. I first recommend updating with the 1.07 firmware available on the website. We have not received a number of reports of the 1.27 destroying data, though the risk is there whenever you do a firmware update.
